West Shore Campus

A new West Shore Campus, currently under construction, will help break down geographic barriers to accessing high-quality education closer to home for students living in the Territories of the Songhees, Malahat, Pacheedaht, SC’IA⁄NEW, and T’Sou-ke First Nations.

The campus in downtown Langford is a first-of-its-kind partnership between Camosun College, Royal Roads University (RRU), the University of Victoria (UVic) and the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC). It will also include space for programming by School District 62 (Sooke).

Once complete, the West Shore Campus will better serve the educational needs of students from communities within the Territories of the Songhees, Malahat, Pacheedaht, SC’IA⁄NEW, and T’Sou-ke, including the municipalities of Sooke, Langford, Colwood, and View Royal, and the Districts of Metchosin and Highlands.

Adding to Camosun's West Shore learning opportunities

Camosun College has been offering courses at many locations in the West Shore for a number of years including Belmont Secondary School where over 600 students have already taken college programs.

Camosun’s focus in the West Shore is currently on delivering University Transfer classes, Adult Upgrading courses and the Education Assistant and Community Support program. Programs expected to be delivered in Fall 2025 include:

The five-storey mass timber building will include flexible learning spaces and classrooms, student supports, a multi-purpose classroom called the Innovation Studio, and space for Indigenous gatherings. The project is planned to meet the Zero Carbon Building design standard, the first public post-secondary institution in B.C. to target this, in addition to targeting LEED Gold certification.
