Planning continues for a full return in September

Camosun continues to work on transition planning for a full and safe return to campus in September 2021 as outlined in the聽letter聽from the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry. As part of the process, on Friday, April 30, the B.C. Government聽聽the availability of a primer offering high-level guidance to assist colleges and universities with their preparations. The聽聽is an update in advance of the revised Go-Forward Guidelines. The primer was developed by a team comprised of public post-secondary representatives in partnership with the BC Centre for Disease Control, regional health authorities and the Office of the Provincial Health Officer. The primer advises that until the revised Guidelines are implemented on Aug. 1, the current聽聽remain in effect.

Camosun will be providing further information on transitioning back to campus for schools and departments in the weeks ahead. Occupational health and safety measures will be introduced across all school and faculty spaces, service areas and administration spaces as part of the return to campus.聽Employees are asked not to initiate work on their areas without occupational and safety direction and will be provided with the opportunity to ask questions in the coming weeks, so please wait for more on how that will unfold.聽In the meantime, the primer and existing聽聽may help answer immediate questions.

The health and safety of students, employees and campus visitors continues to be main priority for Camosun.

Paid leave of absence for COVID-19 vaccination

搁别肠别苍迟听聽provide employees in B.C. with a new paid leave of absence to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The new leave gives employees the right to up to three hours of paid leave to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and is available each time an employee needs time off to be vaccinated. The legislation is effective retroactive to April 19, 2021.
