As we have done throughout the pandemic, the college continues to follow the advice of the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, Island Health and WorkSafeBC. Our goal at all times has been to keep students, faculty, staff and campus visitors healthy and safe.
Campus updates
Wearing a face covering in public indoor spaces, including classrooms and office spaces, remains a personal choice. Grounded in our values of community and respect, is important to acknowledge and appreciate each other鈥檚 choices as we move forward together.
Please note that face masks are required for all of the campus clinics accepting public appointments such as dental, massage therapy and athletic & exercise therapy. This is consistent with the requirement for face masks in health care settings in general.
Starting Friday, April 8, the requirement for proof of vaccination to access events and services will be removed. For Camosun, proof of vaccination will no longer be required for:
- Recreation centres;
- Indoor events;
- Sports activities; and,
- Restaurants, pubs and bars e.g. Dunlop House and ClassRoom Restaurant.
Starting April 1, 2022, pre-entry tests are no longer be required for fully-vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. Proof of vaccination is still required for federally regulated travel such as air and rail. Please .
Stay healthy and safe
The college is required to have an up-to-date Communicable Disease Prevention Guidelines and Communicable Disease Prevention Plan.
Vaccinations remain the primary layer of protection and Camosun strongly encourages all eligible people to get vaccinated.
Please continue to follow good public health measures:
- Please be respectful of individual choices when it comes to face coverings and physical distancing.
- Anyone feeling ill or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should not attend campus.
- Hands should be washed or sanitized upon entering.
- Respect designated Entrances and Exits, if present.
- Please cough or sneeze into a tissue or your sleeve. When using a tissue, dispose of it immediately after use then sanitize hands.
While practices and procedures may change, our commitment to caring, cleanliness, and safety is here to stay. As always, if there are any changes to public health orders we will provide an update as details become available.
